Special
Needs
Rentals
This service has been offered because Marie Wronko, the owner of these apartments, has worked with people with special needs for over 20 years in residential care and supported accommodation. She knows how difficult it can be to find accommodation that suits people with special needs, these apartments lend themselves to be able to holiday in a very normal setting. Prior to booking, a confidential chat on each individual’s requirements can be discussed just to make sure Polaris is the right place for you. The Polaris World Hospital and International School run by King's College is located here.
We have five apartments each having two bedrooms with two single beds, all apartments are ground floor level, easily accessible by wheelchair. All our apartments are furnished to a high standard.
We have in the past accommodated people with mild to moderate learning disabilities and people with mental health problems of all ages.
We have accommodated parties from four people to twenty. Some have been solely organised by an organisation i.e., Care Home or an Authority and other holidays were organised by family or friends.
Sleeping arrangements have in the past for some parties been (e.g.) two to four persons sharing the bedrooms and if support staff are needed within the apartment then we have a very nice sofa bed in the lounge area.
We have had groups where support staff are accommodated in the same apartment as their clients or in an apartment next to the clients, depending on the risk assessment at the time.
People usually bring their own support staff, or support staff can be arranged on site if needs be.
The advantage of bringing your own support staff is of course familiarity of knowing exactly what each person’s needs are and building your own package with your own flights, etc. Obviously our staff team can point you in the right direction and arrange for meet and greet and transportation from the airport.
